Preserving and perpetuating the traditions of Hinduism is one of our core objectives. To this end we hold congregations and festivals from time to time.
1. Monthly
Anusham Pooja
Conducted on the birth star(Anusham) date of Paramacharya- Jagadguru Pujyasree Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Mahaswamigal. Regular prayers include Rudrabishekam with Vedic chanting; singing of bhajans; reading and discussion on excerpts of Vedas and Upanishads.

2. Annual
Paramacharya Jayanti Celebrations
It all started in the summer of 2014, when a group of Kanchi Kamakoti devotees gathered together to celebrate the birth anniversary of Paramacharya. Encouraged by active participation of the devotees and progressively increasing interest and support of the general public, we have been regularly conducting the annual Jayanti celebrations annually every year. The last celebration was in June 2018 and was attended by more than 300 people.
The highlights of the celebrations normally include Veda and Upanishad chanting by priests and other ritviks, prayers (Laksharchana) to Sri Kamakshi by more than 125 ladies; group singing of bhajans by 30 children and rendering of classical devotional songs by ladies as well as a food donations collection drive.

3. Paramacharya Aradhana
The annual aradhana day of Paramacharya (the tithi or lunar date when Paramacharya attained Videha Mukti) is conducted with prayers and bhajans sometime around late December- early January- depending on the south Indian calendar date for Dhanur maasa Krishna Paksha Dwadashi- which is the actual aradhana date.
Please refer to Events page for the actual dates for the current year.
4. Krithika Mandala Veda Parayanam
At Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam the Vedas are recited during the months of Karthikai and Margazhi for 45 -48 days. A period of 45 days is called a Mandala and for this reason the parayanam has come to be known as Krithika Mandala Veda Parayanam.
Members of KKSF- Canada gather to perform vedic chanting on one day during this period every year. It is believed that vibrations created by Vedic Chants have potentiality to bring various benefits to the entire Universe in the form of peace, progress, prosperity and environmental protection and welfare.
5. Future plans
In the coming years, we plan to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Jagadguru Pujyasreei Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamigal and the current Acharya- Jagadguru Pujyasree Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamigal.
Besides reinforcing religious and cultural values, these annual functions also have helped in raising funds for our activities and donations in support of other charities engaged in relief of poverty.
